About the MonoLux Black and White Lightroom Presets
MonoLux is a pack of Black and White Lightroom presets designed for Lightroom CC 2015.1 or higher or Ligtroom 6.1 or higher. The individual presets in this collection were created by Thomas with the aim of delivering a rich and deep black and white effect.
What’s in this collection of Lightroom Presets
The MonoLux Lightroom presets come in three main parts. The first is a set of “set-up” presets, designed to set your images to the correct profile based on your camera, and also to set some common settings such as turning on chromatic aberration reduction and automatic lens correction. This is an optional step that helps speed up your workflow by setting some common settings for you. There are versions for various camera manufacturers, so just pick the one that most suits the camera that you shot with.
The second is the main MonoLux presets themselves. There are 10 main variations of MonoLux with one alternate version and two special effects. Some of the presets have been designed for specific looks, and in those cases the intent is in the name. For example, ones with “Faded” on the end are designed to give a faded look. The one with “Expired” on the end is designed to mimic an expired film and so on.
The Third is a set of Vignette, Grain and Grad presets. These contain some of my personal settings for various types of grain, some common vignette settings and some useful graduated filter setups. If you have already purchased see of my other presets, and already have the Grad, grain and Vignette pack, you don’t have to install it. The version that comes with MonoLux is a simplified version that doesn’t contain any of the colour grads

Some General Note about Presets
Not all images are suitable for all presets. Some images just wont produce pleasing results and won’t be appropriate for the type of presets you may be trying to use, depending on the subject matter.
It is also important to note that any preset won’t be a magic bullet. Presets should be considered as a starting point. More often than not images may require additional adjustments after applying presets.
